Arsenal v Napoli (UEFA Europa League)

Arsenal will host Napoli at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on Friday (12/4). Seeing the cage factor, as well as Napoli’s negative record in England, Arsenal deserved to be won.

Arsenal are unbeaten in five home games they have played in the Europa League this season. Meanwhile, Napoli have never won their away games against English teams.

In the previous round, Arsenal showed a comeback to get rid of Rennes with a 4-3 aggregate.

Unai Emery’s men lost 1-3 in France in the first leg, but managed to escape after winning 3-0 with a pair of goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in London in the second leg.

Meanwhile, Napoli eliminated Red Bull Salzburg also with a 4-3 aggregate. Carlo Ancelotti’s men won 3-0 at the San Paolo through Arkadiusz Milik’s goals and Fabian Ruiz and the suicide of opposing players in the first leg.

In Austria, they took the lead through Owned goals, but eventually lost 1-3. But that was enough to bring the Champions League dropout team to the quarter-finals.

Napoli this season has faced an English team, namely Liverpool in the Champions League group phase.

Napoli beat Liverpool 1-0 at the San Paolo, but were beaten with a score of 0-1 when they went to England. The defeat made Napoli fail to qualify for the knockout phase and was thrown into the last 32 of the Europa League, where Partenopei won 5-1 on aggregate at FC Zurich.

Before this, Arsenal and Napoli had only met in the 2013-2014 Champions League group phase. They beat each other with a 2-0 identical score at home.

Arsenal and Napoli meet again, and this time they fight for the right to qualify for the last four of the Europa League.

The second leg at the San Paolo will be held next week. The teams that qualify will face one from Villarreal or Valencia in the semifinals.
