Milan v Lazio (Coppa Italia)

Published on April 24, 2019 by

AC Milan and Lazio will face each other at the San Siro in the Coppa Italia 2018/19 semi-final second leg on Thursday (25/4). Opportunities for each team to qualify for the top party are still open.

The reason, they drew 0-0 at the Olimpico in the first leg. But if you look at the cage factor, Milan deserves a little more favored.

Last week, Milan had bent Lazio 1-0 at this place. Milan won the Serie A match through a Franck Kessie penalty. The match itself was colored by several controversial incidents, including the actions of Kessie and Tiemoue Bakayoko ‘parading’ the jersey Francesco Acerbi like a trophy after the Rossoneri ensured they won three points.

Kessie and Bakayoko, even coach Gennaro Gattuso, have apologized. The Milan side has already taken action by fining both.

Milan and Lazio meet again at the San Siro, and this time they will fight to determine who has the right to pitch into the Coppa Italia final. Those who qualify will face Atalanta or Fiorentina in the top party.

Last weekend, Milan and Lazio both failed to perform satisfactorily in the league. Milan only drew 1-1 at home to Parma. Meanwhile, Lazio lost 1-2 to host Chievo, a team that incidentally has definitely been relegated from Serie A.

Coach Simone Inzaghi needs to immediately fix the mentality and performance of his troops. If not, the Biancoceleste may have to forget the ambition to qualify for the Coppa Italia final.
