Liverpool will face Porto at the Estadio do Drago in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Wednesday (4/17/2019) or Thursday morning. In this fight, the Reds, as Liverpool, have won 2-0 on aggregate.
Nevertheless, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave an ultimatum to his foster children. He asked Virgil van Dijk and his friends to remain vigilant, despite being two goals ahead.
“They (Porto) always have an intense high game in the highest intense atmosphere. From the first kick they will go in a clear direction,” Klopp said, quoted from the club’s official website.
“We can compare it a little with the City match last year. When we were 3-0 up and everyone thought, ‘half way’ or whatever.”
“We went there to win the game, that was the plan. It was not easy, we knew that, but we should not think of anything else because it was always the goal,” the Liverpool manager from Germany said.
Porto will be encouraged by the return of two players who have been freed from the suspension of cards, namely Pepe and Hector Herrera. Klopp also mentions Liverpool must be wary of the two players.
“Pepe and Herrera will return, key players for them – midfielders and No.6 or No.8 are very big back for them. Militao can play right-back, which has changed a lot for them. It will be a different animal, 100 percent , “he said.
“However, we made our experience in the Champions League. We will try to use the results, go there confidently. We are in a good moment, we want to play football and we want to fight hard.”
