Slavia Praha will host Chelsea in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals 2018-2019, Friday (12/4). This will be their first meeting in UEFA competition.

In the previous round, Slavia Prague showed an extraordinary struggle to eliminate Sevilla. In the first leg at the headquarters of the Europa League elite team, Slavia Praha successfully stole a 2-2 draw through goals from Miroslav Stoch and Alex Kral.

When changing to act as the host in the second leg, Slavia Prague won dramatically 4-3 through extra time and ensured they qualified for the Europa League quarter-finals for the first time.

His opponents in the last eight are Chelsea, who have not even once lost a defeat in the Europa League this season.

In the round of 16, Chelsea forcefully pushed Dynamo Kiev through an aggregate victory by eight goals without reply.

Maurizio Sarri’s side won 3-0 with goals from Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi in the first leg at home. They then won 5-0 with Olivier Giroud’s hat-trick and goals from Marcos Alonso and Hudson-Odoi in Ukraine.

Giroud leads the list of the temporary top scorer of the competition with nine goals. He will be one of Chelsea’s mainstays in Prague.

Chelsea may be a little more favored. The quality of their squad and big name is clearly above their opponents. But Chelsea should be vigilant. If not, they can have the same fate as Sevilla.
